  7. at 25:00 that girl has got in SPOT ON as far as the military. I was in the USAF 20 years… and I was drinking more and more, and refused to go to get help, partly because I didn't want to stop drinking, but MAINLY because I feared what it would do to my career. When I finally did go, I got the help, but I didn't complete it. I was retired before my time. Yep, military and substance abuse don't mix. The military is very puritanical, and despite what they say, you WILL be looked at unfavorably if you go into substance abuse treatment. But not going, or putting it off, may bite you in the ass even worse.
